Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how OMOI, operated by Clever Crow Labs, collects, uses, stores, processes, and protects information when you use the OMOI mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
OMOI may collect or process the following information.
Account information
- name or display name
- email address
- account identifiers used for authentication
- profile and onboarding information provided by the user
- authentication and session information necessary to keep the user signed in
When Google Sign-In is used, OMOI may receive basic account information necessary to authenticate the user. OMOI does not receive or store the user's Google password.
Journal information
Depending on the features the user chooses to use, OMOI may process:
- journal titles
- journal text and thoughts
- mood selections
- daily scores
- favorite status
- tags
- companion names entered by the user
- weather information associated with an entry
- photos
- audio recordings
- formatting preferences
- fonts, font sizes, and text colors
- entry dates and timestamps
- other journal metadata necessary to provide app functionality
Users choose what information they include in their journal.
Technical information
OMOI may process technical information that is necessary to authenticate users, synchronize data, operate app features, prevent abuse, and maintain security.
OMOI does not currently use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or dedicated crash-reporting SDKs to track users.
OMOI does not sell personal information.
2. How Information Is Collected
Information may be collected or processed:
- when you create or sign into an account
- when you complete onboarding
- when you create or edit journal entries
- when you upload photos or audio recordings
- when you use voice-to-text
- when weather information is added to an entry
- when journal information is synchronized with the cloud
- when you contact support
- through technical processes necessary to operate and secure the service
3. Local and Cloud Storage
OMOI stores journal information locally on your device.
When cloud synchronization is used, account and journal information may also be stored using Supabase infrastructure.
Cloud data may include:
- account and profile information
- onboarding information
- journal titles and text
- mood and score information
- favorites
- tags
- companions
- weather information
- formatting metadata
- uploaded photos
- uploaded audio recordings
- journal timestamps and other synchronization metadata
Uninstalling the app may remove local data from the device.
Data that was successfully synchronized to the cloud may remain available for restoration until the user deletes the account or otherwise requests deletion where applicable.
Some information remains local-only, including certain app settings, security preferences, and custom theme images.
4. Authentication
OMOI may support authentication through services such as:
- email-based authentication
- Google Sign-In
- other supported authentication providers made available through OMOI's authentication provider
Authentication services may process information under their own privacy policies.
OMOI does not store user passwords in plaintext. Email/password authentication credentials are handled by Supabase Auth.
5. How We Use Information
Information may be used to:
- create and manage user accounts
- authenticate users
- save and display journal entries
- synchronize journal information
- restore journal information on supported devices
- provide reminders
- provide optional weather information
- provide voice-to-text functionality
- protect accounts and app data
- respond to support requests
- maintain service stability and security
- prevent abuse or unauthorized access
- comply with applicable legal obligations
OMOI does not use private journal text for advertising.
6. Journal Content
Users retain ownership of the journal content they create.
OMOI does not claim ownership of journal entries, photos, audio recordings, or other personal content submitted by users.
Users grant OMOI only the limited rights necessary to:
- store their content
- synchronize it
- display it back to them
- restore it
- provide requested app features
- maintain and secure the service
7. AI and Journal Analysis
OMOI does not currently use artificial intelligence to analyze the private text of journal entries.
Insights such as mood averages, score averages, and similar statistics are calculated from user-selected data rather than through AI analysis of private journal writing.
8. Voice-to-Text
OMOI offers optional voice-to-text functionality.
When voice-to-text is used:
- speech audio may be processed by the device's speech-recognition service or by Google or another speech-recognition provider available on the device
- OMOI receives the recognized text
- OMOI does not intentionally store the raw voice-to-text audio itself
- recognized text may become part of the journal entry and may then be stored locally and synchronized to Supabase like other journal text
The speech-recognition provider may process information under its own privacy policy.
9. Audio Recordings
Audio recordings attached to journal entries are separate from voice-to-text.
When a user chooses to create an audio recording:
- the recording may be stored locally on the device
- the recording may be synchronized to Supabase Storage when cloud sync is used
Audio recordings are used to provide the journal feature requested by the user.
10. Photos
Users may select photos to attach to journal entries.
OMOI uses the device's photo-selection interface and does not require broad access to the user's entire photo library where the operating system supports selective access.
Selected photos may be:
- processed or resized by the app
- stored locally
- uploaded to Supabase Storage for synchronization
Photos are not used for advertising or analytics.
11. Weather and Approximate Location
OMOI may provide optional weather information for journal entries.
To obtain weather information, OMOI may:
- use ipapi.co to estimate approximate location based on the device's public IP address
- use approximate latitude and longitude returned by that service to request weather information from Open-Meteo
OMOI does not currently request GPS or precise device-location permission for this feature.
The resulting weather information may be stored with the journal entry.
The device's public IP address may be visible to these service providers as part of normal internet communication.
12. Notifications and Reminders
OMOI may send local journal reminders when enabled by the user.
Users can:
- select reminder settings
- disable reminders
- manage notification permissions through device settings
Reminder preferences may be stored locally and, where supported, may also be associated with the user's account profile.
13. Security Features
OMOI may offer optional PIN and biometric protection.
PIN information is stored locally in protected form and is not stored as plaintext.
OMOI does not receive, store, or have access to biometric templates such as fingerprint or facial-recognition data.
Biometric authentication is handled by the Android operating system and device security services.
14. Custom Themes and Local Preferences
Some preferences are stored only on the user's device.
These may include:
- selected app theme
- custom theme images
- certain display preferences
- PIN and biometric settings
- synchronization metadata
- other local app settings
Custom theme images are not currently uploaded to Supabase as part of journal cloud sync.
15. Exporting and Importing Data
Users may export a portable copy of their journal using OMOI's Export / Import functionality.
Exported files may contain sensitive journal information.
Users are responsible for protecting exported files and deciding where they are stored, copied, or shared.
16. Data Sharing and Service Providers
OMOI does not sell or rent personal data.
Information may be processed by service providers that are necessary to provide app functionality.
These may include:
Supabase
Used for:
- authentication
- account management
- database storage
- journal synchronization
- media storage
- account deletion
Supabase may process account information, journal content, photos, audio recordings, profile information, and authentication data as necessary to provide these services.
Google services may be used for:
- Google Sign-In
- device or Google speech-recognition services when voice-to-text is used
Google processes information under its own privacy policies.
ipapi.co
Used to derive approximate location from the device's public IP address for optional weather functionality.
Open-Meteo
Used to provide weather information based on approximate latitude and longitude.
Apple
If Apple Sign-In is offered, authentication may be handled through Apple and Supabase.
These providers have their own terms and privacy practices.
OMOI does not provide personal information to third parties for advertising.
17. Payments and Subscriptions
OMOI does not currently require a paid subscription to use the features available in this version of the app.
OMOI may introduce optional paid features or subscriptions in the future.
If paid features are introduced, applicable pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and purchase information will be presented to users before purchase and this Privacy Policy may be updated where necessary.
OMOI does not currently store payment-card information.
18. Data Retention
Account and synchronized journal information may be retained while the user's account remains active.
Information may also be retained where reasonably necessary for:
- security
- system integrity
- technical recovery
- fraud or abuse prevention
- dispute resolution
- legal compliance
When account deletion successfully completes, OMOI is designed to delete associated account data, synchronized journal data, and uploaded journal media from active OMOI cloud storage, subject to limited legal, technical, or service-provider retention requirements.
Service-provider logs, backups, or infrastructure records may be subject to the provider's own retention practices.
19. Account Deletion
Users can delete their account from inside the OMOI application.
When successful account deletion is completed, OMOI is designed to remove:
- the user's OMOI account
- profile information
- synchronized journal entries
- uploaded journal photos
- uploaded journal audio
- associated cloud journal metadata
- local journal data associated with the deleted account
- account-specific local security and preference data where applicable
Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Users should export anything they wish to keep before deleting their account.
Users may also contact Clever Crow Labs using the contact information below if they need assistance with an account-deletion request.
20. Logout vs Account Deletion
Logging out is not the same as deleting an account.
Logging out ends the active session but does not automatically delete journal information associated with the account.
Account deletion permanently removes the account and associated synchronized data as described above.
21. Android Backup
OMOI excludes sensitive and account-specific information from Android's automatic backup and device-transfer systems where supported.
This includes categories such as authentication sessions, account security information, journal databases, journal media, and custom theme files.
OMOI uses its own cloud synchronization system for supported journal restoration.
22. Children's Privacy
OMOI is not specifically directed to children under the minimum digital-consent age applicable in their country.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable law.
A parent or guardian who believes a child has provided personal information may contact Clever Crow Labs.
23. International Data Processing
OMOI and its service providers may process information in countries outside the user's country of residence.
Clever Crow Labs seeks to use service providers with appropriate privacy and security protections.
24. Security
OMOI uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards intended to protect information.
These measures include, where applicable:
- authenticated user accounts
- access controls
- database security policies
- private media storage
- encrypted HTTPS network transmission
- optional PIN protection
- optional biometric device authentication
- restricted Android backup of sensitive app data
No electronic storage or transmission method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
25. No Sale of Personal Data
OMOI does not sell personal information.
OMOI does not currently use personal information for targeted advertising.
OMOI does not currently use advertising SDKs or developer analytics SDKs to build advertising profiles.
26. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time.
Material changes may be communicated through:
- the app
- this website
- another appropriate notice
Users should periodically review the current version.
